I grew up in the Quad City area. I graduated from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, IA in 2010 with a B.A. in Psychology and 2012 with a Master of Social Work. I moved to Des Moines, IA after graduating and began working as a therapist at Orchard Place Child Guidance Center before taking an opportunity to work as a Social Worker/Case Manager at Iowa Methodist Hospital.
I returned to the Quad Cities in 2016 where I worked as the Partial Hospital & Intensive Outpatient Clinician for the UnityPoint Health Robert Young Center before choosing to enter the world of private practice. I have provided presentations on attachment in romantic relationships, attachment in children with trauma histories, equity in theatrical spaces, bipolar disorder, navigating grief in the workplace, trauma psychoeducation for police recruits, Safe Zone, seasonal affective disorder, and more.
Outside of my profession, I volunteer at area community theaters (both on and off stage), am a singing member (and previous board member) of Quad City Singers, have served as a board member for Quad City Music Guild, and am working on publishing a book of poetry. In my spare time, I love to learn recipes, sing songs, and work on my creative writing skills. I am excited to be a part of the Urban Balance Therapy and Consulting team!
