I am Lindsey. I love living each day as a new adventure. This includes being with my favorites: my husband, children, our 2 awesome dogs and close family and friends. I like finding new foods to try or places to go and visit. You can find me being in nature whenever possible - gardening, reading, hiking, kayaking, playing volleyball, watching Hawkeye sports, shopping, or going for a Jeep
drive or boat ride! I have coached Special Olympics and volleyball. Since I was little helping on the farm or caring for my younger siblings, I have wanted to work with people - to make a difference and to help others. I genuinely love what I do!
I earned a Master's of Social Work Degree from the University of Iowa in 2016 and I am licensed by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation as a clinically licensed social worker (LCSW). My career experiences are diverse including: school-based counseling, older adults in both nursing homes and in neglectful at-risk situations, residential facility, inpatient psychiatric unit and people impacted by cancer. I have worked with children, adolescents, teens, adults, and families. I have received additional training in trauma-informed care, Circle of Security, yoga, mindfulness, play therapy, and Be Real Body Confidence.
Every individual person is impacted by their own journey in life. By their experiences and challenges they face. I strive in my role by helping to support clients as they discover and gain strength and confidence to feel empowered, and work to be the best version of themselves. In a collaborative environment I use Person-Centered and Strengths-Based approaches to explore what strengths, weaknesses, vulnerabilities and challenges contribute to living a
fulfilling life.
